Teens Exploring Code (TEC)

About Us

Teens Exploring Code was founded by two Palo Alto High School students who love computer science. TEC is sponsored by the City of Palo Alto through the Bryant Street Garage Fund.

Who we are:

Kelsey Wang

A senior at Palo Alto High School, Kelsey recognizes the incredible importance of computer science and wonders why there aren’t required computer-related classes in high school. You probably think she just codes all day, but she also enjoys hanging out with friends, playing tennis, laughing with her SciOly team, reading useless things, applying sarcasm liberally, playing pop songs on the piano, trying to speak Spanish, and making obnoxiously long lists.

Alice Zhang

A junior at Palo Alto High School, Alice has taken a multitude of courses, and computer science has, by far, come to be her favorite subject. Surprisingly enough, Alice also has a life outside of computer science, in which she enjoys baking desserts that she gorges in at midnight, cooking pasta in boiling water, playing tennis and badminton, watching movies with friends or alone at night with a big bowl of buttered popcorn, watching TV shows with friends over Skype, sleeping until noon, and eating food.
